Orlando Franklin provided some insight into Antworten

The Ottawa Senators are looking to rebound from an opening night loss as they visit the Tampa Bay Lightning tonight. Listen to the Senators vs. Lightning live tonight on TSN Radio 1200 Ottawa starting at 7pm et. After missing the playoffs last season for the first time since 2011, the Senators opened 2014-15 with Thursdays road loss in Nashville. Ottawa held a 1-0 lead after 40 minutes, but the Predators scored three straight to begin the third period en route to their 3-2 victory. Eric Nystrom was credited with the game-winner, scoring the last of Nashvilles three third-period goals. Alex Chiasson, who was making his Ottawa debut after coming over from Dallas in an offseason trade, scored with 6:12 left in third to cut the deficit to 3-2 but the Sens couldnt pot the equalizer. Kyle Turris also lit the lamp for the Senators, while Craig Anderson stopped 34-of-37 shots. Thursdays game also marked the return of David Legwand to the Music City. The former Preds forward spent all of his 15 NHL seasons in Nashville before being dealt to Detroit at the 2014 NHL Trade Deadline. Legwand signed a two-year deal with Ottawa this past July. Its over and done with, said Legwand. Im happy that its over and done with and I move forward. Ottawa is playing the middle test of a season-opening three-game road trip tonight. The Sens, who were 19-14-8 as the away team last season, will cap the trek Monday in Florida before playing their home opener Thursday against Colorado. The Sens snapped a four-game losing streak in Tampa with a 4-3 shootout win over the Bolts on March 24. Ottawa has claimed two of the last three meetings in this series. Lightning defenseman Victor Hedman scored 71 seconds into the extra session on Thursday to lift Tampa to a 3-2 decision over the visiting Florida Panthers. Another victory in Saturdays tilt would give Tampa its first 2-0 start since the club won three in a row to begin the 2009-10 campaign. Tampa took advantage of Scottie Upshalls interference penalty at the end of the third period, as Hedman converted the power play at the 1:11 mark of OT. During a Florida line change, goaltender Ben Bishop sent a pass up the near boards to Hedman, who skated in from the blue line and wristed a shot over the right shoulder of Roberto Luongo to win it. Ryan Callahan and Tyler Johnson each netted a goal while Valtteri Filppula tallied two assists for the Lightning. Bishop stopped 19-of-21 shots and added an assist on the game-winner from Hedman. Bishop saw his first action since April 8 of last season after missing Tampas opening-round playoff loss to Montreal due to injury. I felt good, said Bishop. It was kind of a tough game, it was hard to get into. I thought our team played well defensively. We have to work on a few things, but its always good to get that first (win) under your belt. The Lightning are beginning the season with four straight games at Amalie Arena before heading out on a five-game road trip. Tampa was 25-10-6 as the host last season. Erik Condra, Colin Greening and Mark Stone also scored for Ottawa (19-18-7), which jumped out to a 3-1 lead in the first period at the Bell Centre. Daniel Briere, in his best game with the Canadiens (24-14-5), scored twice and had an assist while Brian Gionta also scored. After a scoreless second period with only seven shots for each side, Montreal mounted a comeback in the third. Briere brought his team to within one with a nifty move at the side of the net. He managed to jam the puck past Craig Anderson at 1:57 of the third off a behind-the-net pass from Tomas Plekanec. Briere, a 36-year-old former all-star, was back in the lineup after sitting out as a healthy scratch for two games. The Canadiens continued to press after his goal and put in another a few minutes later. Gionta shovelled in a loose puck at 4:46 off a point shot, after Plekanec and Briere had a crack at it first. But it wasnt enough after Ottawas quickk start.dddddddddddd Greening quieted the crowd with a goal only 13 seconds into the game on a cross-crease pass from Condra. The Canadiens had a few tough bounces to start things off. What looked like a power-play goal by Rene Bourque at 4:05 into the first period was called back after a quick whistle on a scramble in front. Briere finally tied the score 11:32 into the first period when he managed to knock in his own rebound after a pass from Travis Moen. The tie didnt last long. The Senators regained the lead on a backhand shot from Mark Stone at 13:50. Condra scored again for the Sens 14 seconds later on a pass that went off the skate of Habs defenceman Francis Bouillon. Heading into the second period with a two-goal lead, the Senators played a more conservative style and were able to limit the chances on Anderson. Both teams had just seven shots apiece in the second period. NOTES: Senators captain Jason Spezza missed his fourth straight game with a hip flexor injury. ... Canadiens defenceman Raphael Diaz was a healthy scratch for the first time this season. ' ' '
